College-Am tournament scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 13 at Birmingham CC
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Want to tee it up and play alongside college golfers?
Here's your chance!
The Central Michigan men's and women's golf teams are scheduled to host the first Motor City Matchup at Birmingham Country Club on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 14-15.
Ahead of the unique co-ed match-play tournament, the Chippewas are hosting a college-am tournament at the storied Birmingham C.C. on Sunday, Oct. 13.
Fans, supporters and the general public are invited to participate in the best-ball format 18-hole event. Each team will consist of two college players, members of the four teams who will play in the matchup, and two amateur partners.
The handicapped college-am will be scored by taking the two best net scores on each hole for each team.
Central Michigan, Detroit Mercy, Oakland and Green Bay comprise the Motor City Matchup field.
Sunday's college-am tournament is set to begin with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Check-in is set for 11:30 a.m. and lunch will be provided with a dinner immediately following the tournament.
Spots in the college-am tournament are limited to the first 48 registered participants. Cost is $250 per golfer. The deadline to sign up is Monday, Sept. 30.
