Third Straight Sweep for Volleyball Grabs Fourth MAC Victory

Natalia Rejment recorded her fourth-straight double-double in victory over Akron.
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Consistency has been the name of the game for senior outside hitter, Natalia Rejment in the last two weeks of CMU Volleyball.
On Saturday afternoon, Rejment recorded her fourth-straight double-double with 19 kills and 10 digs. Rejment also tallied the achievement against Buffalo in two straight nights and on Friday night against the Zips. The mark against Akron charts her fifth of the 2025 season.
Rejment hit .500 on the outside for the Chippewas – a hitting percentage almost unheard of in that position.
The Chippewas took the sets from Akron 25-21, 25-23 and 25-22 – all closely contested sets where Central Michigan battled to scrap out victories.
In the first set, Central Michigan trailed 11-6 before tying the set at 12, using a 6-1 run to ignite the reset leading to the win. The second set was much of the same at the start, where CMU was not the first to 15 in the set, nor the first to 20. CMU utilized a 4-1 run to close out the second and officially start a hunt for the sweep.
Central Michigan was the first to 15 in set three, 15-11 and held a 3-point advantage when the 20-point mark came around. The Chippewas held the lead at 24-19 as Akron fended off three match points before CMU's Grace Thomas sealed the deal giving the nod to Central Michigan.
Aside from Rejment, the Chippewas had some significant statistical numbers on the afternoon.
Central Michigan recorded a .280 hitting percentage as a team with 44 kills. Keelyn Muell aided the team with 37 assists.
At the service line, Muell added two aces while Brooklyn Conner and Grace Thomas each added one. Rejment also led the blocking charge for Central Michigan with two solo blocks as the team combined for eight. Conner blocked four and Abby Olin blocked three.
Hannah Langton and Rainey Weidman, who held down the libero position for the Maroon & Gold charted 10 and 8 digs respectively.
Next up for the Chippewas: a road trip to Kent State. CMU will take on the Golden Flashes on October 23 and 24 in Kent, Ohio. First serve is a 6 p.m. both nights.
