Coming out of one of those challenge timeouts, the Chippewas were aced for the third time in the set and Coach Wilson called another timeout with CMU trailing 9-17.
The second set started with a long run for the Eagles, but CMU clawed their way back to trail by just three at the media timeout, 12-15. The Chippewas would score just two more as the final 14-25 approached quickly putting CMU down 0-2 in the set.
The third set became tied at nine and the Chippewas led in a set for the first time all night, 11-10 over the Eagles and CMU held the lead at the media timeout, 15-12. At 16 the set was tied, and the Chippewas were then trailing 16-18.
