Carolena Ryon Earns First MAC Offensive Player of the Week Award

Ryon’s second hat trick of the season in Friday’s 5-3 win over Longwood propels her to 10 goals on the season

CLEVELAND – Sophomore forward Carolena Ryon earned her first career Mid-American Conference Player of the Week Wednesday, Oct. 29.

Ryon led Central Michigan over the weekend, scoring three goals, her second career hat-trick, in a 5-3 victory over Longwood, Friday, Oct. 29. Ryon sits at 10 goals on the season, second most of the Chippewas and tied for seventh in the MAC.

The second of her three goals came as the game winner, her fourth of the season, good for most on the team and tied for second most in the conference.

Her effort propelled the Chippewas to their third conference win of the season, the most since the Spring 2020 season.

Ryon returns to the pitch with the team Friday, Oct. 31, to close out regular season conference play at Bellarmine as the Chippewas are in the hunt for their first MAC Tournament appearance since 2019.
