Olin Charts 250th Career Block in Volleyball Loss to Ohio

Senior middle blocker Abby Olin blocked the 250th ball of her collegiate career against the Bobcats in McGuirk Arena on Saturday afternoon.
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan Volleyball team dropped a four-set match to the Ohio Bobcats on Saturday afternoon in McGuirk Arena.
CMU moves to 9-17 on the season and 6-8 in MAC play while Ohio advances to 11-15 overall and 9-5 in the conference. The Chippewas fell 28-26 in the first set and 21-25 in the second. CMU grabbed a 25-21 victory in set three, but ultimately dropped the match with a 19-25 loss in the fourth set.
For the second night in a row, the Chippewas and Bobcats battled to extra points in the first set.
The Chippewa defense was highlighted by Abby Olin, who recorded her 250th career block in the third set. Olin enters the matches with Miami (OH) with 251 career blocks.
Olin also tallied three kills in the match with three total blocks.
The offense for CMU was led by senior Natalia Rejment who charted 12 kills and freshman Taylor Cripe who matched that total. The two combined for nine digs, six for Rejment and three for Cripe.
At the service line, Keelyn Muell had two of CMU's four aces over the stretch of the four set match.
The Chippewas will welcome the alumni of their program back on the 7th of November as they host the Miami (OH) RedHawks for a 6 p.m. match on Friday and a 4 p.m. match on Saturday. The Saturday match will be the annual senior celebration where the program will give gratitude to the six seniors on the roster.
Those six players are Natalia Rejment, Abby Olin, Alina Anderson, Ella Peter, Maddy Gebhardt & Brooklyn Conner.
