MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.—Members of the Central Michigan Football program have teamed up to raise money for Special Olympics Michigan through its 2025 Polar Plunge initiative. For more information and to donate to the Special Olympics Michigan cause through the Central Michigan Football team, click this link.
Central Michigan offensive linemen Ryan Blum and Martin Koivisto are organizing the initiative as a group of Chippewas will take the Polar Plunge on Saturday, February 8. Three more days remain to donate to the cause as the goal is to raise as much money before the players take the plunge on Saturday.
The Polar Plunge is a unique fundraising initiative that invites brave participants to take a chilly dip in local bodies of water during the winter months. Each plunge raises funds to support athletes with intellectual abilities (ID), enabling them to participate in sports training and competitions year-round. More information on the 2025 Plunge is available at this link.
Last year, the 2024 Polar Plunge raised nearly $2 million for Special Olympics Michigan. This is the second consecutive year that members of the CMU football team have participated in the fundraiser.
