Softball Picked Fifth in MAC Preseason Poll

The Chippewas were picked to finish fifth in the Mid-American Conference preseason poll that is voted on by coaches.
CLEVELAND, Ohio — The 2025 softball preseason poll was released by the Mid-American Conference on Tuesday afternoon. Central Michigan was picked to finish fifth in the league, out of 11 teams. The Chippewas earned 65 points in the voting from the other head coaches in the conference.
The Ohio Bobcats were picked to finish first and earned eight votes as the favorite to win the postseason tournament held in Akron, Ohio. The defending regular season and tournament champions, Miami (OH), were chosen to finish second and earned one vote as the pick to win the tournament.

9. Kent State – 31 points
10. Buffalo – 20 points
11. Bowling Green – 13 points
MAC Tournament Champion: Ohio (9), Ball State (1), Toledo (1)
Central Michigan is set to open their season on Friday, February 7th against North Texas in Troy, Alabama where they will participate in the Trojan Classic hosted by Troy.
