Volleyball Falls in Three to Michigan

Natalia Rejment recorded her first start of her senior season and led the team with eight kills as volleyball falls to the Wolverines.
ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Central Michigan played its first mid-week game of the 2025 season in Ann Arbor, and fell 0-3 to the Wolverines (17-25, 22-25, and 16-25).
CMU moves to 3-7 on the season, while Michigan advances to 8-1.
Natalia Rejment made her first start of her senior season for the Chippewas against the Wolverines. She finished the night with eight kills and two aces.
CMU was led on the offensive side by Rejment and Taylor Cripe, who both registered eight kills. Grace Thomas killed six out of the middle, hitting .455. Brooklyn Connor and Abby Olin each charted two blocks, and Rejment and Swiercz notched two aces each.
In the first set, Michigan utilized a 13-2 run and the Chippewas trailed 6-16 at one point to the Wolverines. Michigan ultimately took the set, 25-17 over CMU. Central Michigan hit .091 as a team and Michigan tallied a .440 hitting percentage with their 11 kills on 25 attempts.
Set two resulted in a significantly better hitting percentage for Central Michigan, .360 as a team with 12 kills. Cripe tallied five kills in the set, and Izzy Swiercz contributed two aces from the service line.
The score was tied 12 times in the second set and CMU led by three at 13-10. CMU was outscored 4-0 at the end as Michigan took the set 25-22.
In the third set, CMU was outlasted by Michigan by a score of 25-16.
Next, the Chippewas will head to Penn State to face Princeton, and national reigning champions, the Nittany Lions.
Coach Wilson will return to her alma mater with her team for the last preseason tournament of the 2025 season.
The first game in Pennsylvania will be on Saturday, September 20th at 2 p.m. against the Tigers.
