Alvarado-Reid earns 39.200, two event and all-around wins in SEMO Tri.

CLEVELAND — Luciana Alvarado-Reid of Central Michigan Gymnastics has earned Mid-American Conference Gymnast of the Week honors, the league announced on Tuesday.

Alvarado-Reid, a senior from Cartago, Costa Rica, was key to the Chippewas' victory over SEMO and Fisk on Friday, claiming an all-around score of 39.200.

She scored 9.925 on bars and 9.9 on floor to earn event wins, as well as posting 9.750 on vault and 9.625 on beam.

Two weeks into competition, Alvarado-Reid ranks first in the league on bars, floor, and all-around. She is ranked nationally sixth on bars, 17^th on floor, and 24^th in all-around.

CMU is scheduled to compete against MAC opponent Western Michigan on Sunday, Jan. 18 (2 p.m.).
