Men's Basketball to Play at Louisiana in MAC-SBC Challenge on February 7

Central Michigan-Louisiana contest scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 7; Tipoff is at 4 p.m. ET/3 p.m. CT at the Cajundome.
CLEVELAND, Ohio—As part of the Mid-American Conference-Sun Belt Conference Men's Basketball Challenge, the Central Michigan men's basketball team will travel to to play Louisiana on Saturday, Feb. 7, the two leagues announced Monday afternoon. The matchup will be played at Louisiana's Cajundome. Tipoff is 4 p.m. ET/3 p.m. CT for a contest televised on an ESPN+.
The February MAC-SBC Challenge pairings were based on real-time NET rankings.
The MAC-SBC Challenge—a scheduling alliance in the sports of men's and women's basketball—began during the opening week of the 2023-24 season in November with 12 Mid-American Conference (MAC) men's basketball programs hosting 12 Sun Belt Conference (SBC) teams, while the 12 MAC women's basketball programs traveled to the 12 SBC teams.
Each MAC and Sun Belt team included in the MAC-SBC Challenge is guaranteed one home and one away game each season. Scheduling assistance is provided by Ordinal Sports Group. In addition to relevant NET data, geography and frequency of past contests are considered in determining the matchups. Each MAC-SBC Challenge game will be carried on an ESPN platform.
In the first of a two-game scheduling series, Central Michigan won an 82-66 victory vs. Appalachian State in its season opener. Central Michigan is 4-1 in MAC-SBC Challenge games and has won four straight contests.
Next up for Central Michigan (4-11, 0-3 MAC), the Chippewas will play at Akron (10-4, 1-1 MAC) tonight at 7 p.m.
