Savignano earned eight points off three goals and two assists against Longwood and Saint Louis
CLEVELAND – Sophomore forward Teah Savignano earned the first weekly award of her career after an eight-point weekend against Longwood and Saint Louis.
Savignano earned a hat trick and an assist in the Chippewas' 7-0 win over Longwood for their second conference win of the season. She earned an assist on the first goal of the game when she stopped for Carolena Ryon on a corner attempt.
Savignano then earned her first goal of the game in the fourth minute of the second half as she led an odd-man rush and beat the Lancer's keeper.
Her second and third goals came just over a minute apart in the dying moments of the third quarter to put the Chippewas up 7-0, completing not only her first career hat-trick but also notching her first multi-goal game.
She closed out her scoresheet Sunday, with just over two minutes remaining in regulation. After the Chippewas pulled their keeper for an extra attacker, Savignano aided on an odd-man rush to assist the game-tying goal by Ryon to force overtime.
Savignano's award comes as the second Chippewas weekly award of the season. Sophomore forward Mora Rulli earned 11 points in wins over Mercyhurst and Saint Louis in September.
The Chippewas return to the pitch Friday, Oct. 16, at Appalachian State, with first touch coming at 6 p.m., before a date with James Madison on Sunday, Oct. 18, at 1 p.m.
