Lacrosse Drops Season-Opener at No. 25/22 Notre Dame

Kahler logs seven saves, three ground balls in three quarters
SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Central Michigan Lacrosse fell to nationally-ranked Notre Dame to open the 2026 season, 25-0.

Senior goalkeeper Leila Kahler (Spring Lake, Mich. / Spring Lake) marked her second career start as she took the reins in cage for the Chippewas, recording seven saves and three ground balls in 45 minutes between the posts.

Junior Anna Farrar (Milton, Ga. / Cambridge) recorded four of CMU's six shot attempts, including the lone on-target attempt just under the four minute mark of the first quarter.

Freshman Mia Bradley (Orchard Park, N.Y. / Orchard Park) tallied the other two as she started in her collegiate debut.

Four other rookies made their debut from the bench against the Fighting Irish: Sofia Marshburn (Peachtree City, Ga. / Starr's Mill), Marisa Rosner (Frankfort, Ill. / Marist), Abby Schroer (Frisco, Texas / Memorial) and Izzy Watson (East Lansing, Mich. / East Lansing).

Central Michigan Lacrosse remains on the road to make a weekend swing for Marquette Friday (Feb. 13, 6 p.m. ET) and No. 2/2 Northwestern Sunday (Feb. 15, 4 p.m. ET) as the program opens the season with seven straight away from home.

The home and Mid-American Conference schedules open March 14 with a visit from Robert Morris.
