DeGeorge logs career-high four caused turnovers; Minutewomen won 55 straight in the A10 prior to joining the MAC

AMHERST, Mass. – Central Michigan Lacrosse fell at Massachusetts, 22-1, Thursday afternoon in Mid-American Conference play.

The Minutewomen, runaway preseason favorites in the league, had won 55 straight in the Atlantic 10 Conference before departing for the MAC for 2026 and opened the league schedule last week with a 21-3 victory at Youngstown State.

Sofia DeGeorge (Ellicott City, Md. / Mount de Sales) collected a career-high four caused turnovers, all in the first quarter.

Lili Sorenson (Kildeer, Ill. / Stevenson) scored her fourth goal of the season in the third quarter, assisted by Kelsey Barratt (Voorhees, N.J. / Eastern).

Leila Kahler (Spring Lake, Mich. / Spring Lake) withstood 40 UMass shots as she logged all 60 minutes in cage. The senior tallied seven saves.

Central Michigan Lacrosse gets nine days to regroup before it hosts Detroit Mercy (0-6; 0-1 MAC) next Saturday (March 28) at the CMU Lacrosse Complex.
