Chippewas Close Out Weekend at Hillsdale Gina Relays

Chippewas close out three day at Hillsdale, look forward to Grand Valley and Louisville meets next Friday
HILLSDALE, Mich. — Central Michigan Track & Field closed out it's competition for the weekend at the Hillsdale Gina Relays.
It was a great weekend all around for the team, both with the Hillsdale women, and our Wake Forest team, Central Michigan Director of Track & Field Jenny Swieton said of the team's eventful weekend, featuring a total of eight amendments to the Chippewas all-time top-10 performances.
CMU started their day off in the 4x100m, with Danica Shamion, Sophia Garland, Andrea Merin and Ella Sweatt representing the Chippewas. The team won the event, posting a 47.70 second finish.
Emily Yoshino, Riley Nielsen, and Jane Paddock participated in the pole vault. Yoshino took second overall, clearing 3.87m on her second attempt. Both Nielsen and Paddock set personal bests, Nielsen surpassed 3.72m, for fourth place; Paddock cleared 3.57m for sixth overall.
In the 400m hurdles, Linnearia Richards and Libby Munderloh took two of the top three spots. Richards won the event, crossing in 1:02.20, while Munderloh logged a 1:03.00 for third overall.
Robyn Watts set a personal best in the 200m, with a 26.30 second finish for third place in meet. Mireya Benjamin joined Watts in the event with a 26.80 second finish for 10th overall.
Central Michigan Track & Field will return Friday, April 24, with the Extra Weekend Meet hosted by Grand Valley, and the Clark Wood Open, hosted by Louisville.
