Former Chippewa student-athlete Libby Bigelow joined Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Jenny Swieton's staff as a volunteer assistant coach in July 2021.
Bigelow competed for Central Michigan from 2004-09, earning top eight finishes in the steeplechase at the MAC championships in multiple seasons. A captain for cross country and track & field teams, she was the 2008 Bill Boyden award recipient.
In 2020, Bigelow moved from Idaho back to Michigan. An avid marathoner, she runs for the Red Cedar Running Club. In 2019, she qualified for the Olympic Trials in the marathon and competed in Atlanta in 2020.
Bigelow received her bachelor's degree from CMU in biomedical sciences with a double minor in spanish and leadership. She earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northwestern University and currently practices at Mid-Michigan Hospital-Gratiot Inpatient Rehab.
