Bio
2023-24 (Seton Hall): Transferred to Central Michigan from Seton Hall of the Big East Conference … did not see action in two seasons with the Pirates … twice named Big East All-Academic and Dean’s List recipient
High School: Graduated summa cum laude from Olentangy Orange High School in 2023 … holds school record with 15 shutouts in a single season, en route to school’s first OHSAA Division I Final Four appearance and school-record 19 victories (2022) … named to PrepSoccer’s 2022 All-America Watch List … two-time all-conference selection, named all-district in senior season … named Columbus Dispatch High School Athlete of the Week (9/23/22) after posting nine saves in a 1-0 victory over New Albany, her fifth straight shutout of what would be 15 that season …
Club: Played for the U18/U19 Internationals Soccer Club of the ECNL for three seasons, starting at 15 years old … IMG U17 National Select Team … was shifted to center back for three games, scoring two goals and assisting three more to win the IMG Cup College Showcase … played three seasons in the ECNL U18/19 Champions League, national runner-up in 2021
Personal: Daughter of Kimberly and JD Kershaw … has older brother, Terbor, and younger sister, Clara … holds dual citizenship between the United States and Canada … her father played hockey professionally (1990-94) after a four-year collegiate career at Hamilton College … her mother was on the dance team at South Florida (1986-90) … her cousin, Steven Thompson, played hockey for Alaska-Fairbanks (2009-13), currently goaltending coach for the U.S. Women’s Hockey National Team, since 2019
“Why CMU?”: “I chose to transfer to CMU because it offered a strong balance between academics and athletics, allowing me to pursue my goals on and off the field. The MAC is super competitive, and I knew CMU was somewhere I could be challenged and pushed to be my best. The athletic facilities are excellent, and the campus environment and tight-knit community make it feel like home.”
Story Time: “One day when I was 12, my mom got a random call from NBC Studios in Hollywood saying I had been recommended by someone to audition for a new show called Genius Jr. hosted by Neil Patrick Harris. I had to do four challenges: mental math, backwards spelling, logic, and memory. I auditioned and passed all four challenges but while waiting for production to start, turned 13 and was too old for the show!”
