Wrestling Rolls To Win Over Eastern Michigan

YPSILANTI -- The Central Michigan wrestling team opened up its Mid-American Conference season defeating the Eastern Michigan Eagles, 42-3.
The No. 5-ranked Ryan Cunningham (Middleton/Sr.) defeated the seventh-ranked Mike Feeney in a close dual, 4-1. Two Chippewas earned pins against Eastern Michigan. The 133-pound Jordan Webster (Washington, IL/Fr.) pinned Tim Vandeusen early in the second period while Phil Baroni (Massapequa, NY/Sr.) pinned Derek Pace at 184. All-American Chris Vike (Stoughton, WI/Sr.) scored a major decision against Brian Hinzman, 19-3.
Central Michigan returns to the mat on Sun., Jan. 16, when it hosts the ninth-ranked Michigan Wolverines. Action starts in Rose Arena at 2 p.m.
