Field Hockey Beats Ball State

MOUNT PLEASANT--The Central Michigan University field hockey team posted a 2-1 win over Ball State University on Saturday afternoon at Kelly/Shorts Stadium.
The win improves CMU's record to 8-5 overall.
Ball State took the early 1-0 lead on a goal by Colleen Conway with 14:15 left in the opening stanza.
The Chippewas tied the score at 1-1 when Melissa Lazarevski (Rochester, NY/Jr.) scored with 1:15 left in the first half.
The score remained tied until midway through the second half when Lazarevski scored her second goal of the afternoon with 15:05 left in the game.
The CMU defense kept the Cardinals off the scoreboard the rest of the way to pick up the win.
The Chippewas host Iowa on Sunday beginning at 11 a.m.
