ATHENS, Ohio--The Central Michigan University field hockey team had its four-game winning streak snapped with an 8-0 loss to Ohio University on Friday afternoon.
The loss drops CMU's record to 6-4 overall and 3-2 in the Mid-American Conference.
The Bobcats got four first-half goals on their way to the victory. Andrea Pettinato scored a pair of goals in the opening stanza while Ali Johnstone and Jill Appleby each added single tallies.
Ohio kept the pressure on in the second half, scoring four more goals. The Bobcats got goals from Erin Moslener, Pettinato, Brea Webster and Jenn Watt.
OU goalie Tara Elliott made four saves in the win while CMU goalie Janel Spero (Shoreham, NY/So.) made nine saves.
CMU takes on Michigan on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m., in Ann Arbor.
