Michigan Shuts Out Field Hockey

ANN ARBOR-The Central Michigan University field hockey team dropped an 8-0 decision to the University of Michigan on Saturday afternoon.
The loss drops CMU's record to 6-5 on the year.
The Wolverines jumped to a 6-0 lead with six goals in the first half and added a pair in the second stanza on their way to the win.
Michigan was led by Molly Powers who scored her first career hat trick. She scored two goals in the first half and one in the second.
Michigan goalie Maureen Tasch made one save en route to a shutout. Central Michigan had three goalies in net with Janel Spero (Shoreham, NY/So.) making two saves, Kerri Krasnow (Eliot, ME/Fr.) making six and Laura Plese (Lindenhurst, IL/Fr.) making one. Spero recorded her fifth loss this season.
Central Michigan returns home on Tuesday, Oct. 10, to face Big Ten foe Michigan State at 3 p.m.
