Former Wrestler Chosen For International Competition

MOUNT PLEASANT--Former Central Michigan University standout Casey Cunningham will represent the United States in the freestyle wrestling competition at the World University Championships being held at Tokyo, Japan on Nov. 2-11.

Cunningham along with seven other Olympic hopefuls will face off against top-level competition from Russia, Iran, Ukraine, Turkey, Belarus and Mongolia.

The 152-pounder claimed CMU's first NCAA national title in wrestling in 1999. Cunningham is now one of 15 wrestlers training for the 2004 USA Olympic wrestling team in Colorado Springs, Colo.
