MOUNT PLEASANT--Central Michigan University wrestler Ahmad Sanders (Flint/Sr.) was named the Mid-American Conference "Wrestler of the Week."
Sanders took second place at the Michigan State Open (Nov. 18-19) with a 3-1 record.
Sanders, who is ranked third in the MAC at 125-pounds, picked up two wins over top-20 wrestlers -- Kent State's Brent Thompson (17th, 3-2 dec.) and Michigan's A.J. Grant (18th, 5-1 dec.) His lone loss came to 15th-ranked Chris Williams of Michigan State.
