CMU To Kick Off Hoops Season With Moon Jam

MOUNT PLEASANT - "Rose Rowdies," "Hoop Heads" and "Basketball Jones" should all circle Oct. 15 on their calendars because that's when the Chippewa basketball teams kick off the 1999-2000 season with Moon Jam.

Both the Chippewa women's and men's squads will participate in the Moon Jam festivities which begin in Rose Arena at 11 p.m. Admission is free and the first 500 fans through the doors will receive DominoUs Pizza.

Fans will be able to meet the teams and the players will participate in a three-point challenge and slam dunk contest. Fan particpation games, such as the Dick Vitale sound-alike contest, are also on tap and prizes will be given out, including a getaway weekend. Students will have the opportunity to sign up for the Rose Rowdies.
