Chippewas Lose To Oakland

ROCHESTER, Mich. - Oakland University (4-4) defeated Central Michigan University (2-7) by a 75-61 count on Wednesday night at the 'O'rena North.
The first half was the Katie Wolfe show for the Golden Grizzlies. Wolfe had 23 points and seven rebounds for OU to help it to a 43-25 halftime advantage.
The Chippewas cut the lead to 49-43 with 12:42 left in the game but the Golden Grizzlies didn't let them get any closer.
The Chippewas won the battle of the boards, 47-35, but were outshot .462-.406.
The Chippewas were led by senior Shelly Woods with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Woods scored 20 of her points in the second half. Sophomore Vershaun Jones had 10 points and nine rebounds.
Wolfe led the Golden Grizzlies with 27 points while Sarah Judd had 16 points and 10 rebounds and Courtney Ruffing had 13 points.
The Chippewas host Ferris State on Dec. 29.
