Field Hockey Beats Ball State

MUNCIE, Ind.--The Central Michigan University field hockey team won its first Mid-American Conference game of the year with a 5-1 win over Ball State University at the BSU Artificial Turf Field on Saturday afternoon.
The win improves CMU's record to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in the MAC.
Melissa Lazarevski scored four goals to lead the CMU offensive charge. The game marked Lazarevski's second straight hat trick. She scored three goals against Saint Louis on Sept. 16.
Lazarevski leads the Chippewas with 10 goals and 20 points on the year.
Meg Lewis netted her second goal of the season and the fourth of her career, to round out the Chippewa scoring.
Janel Spero made 14 saves en route to her fourth win of the season.
The Chipewas return home next weekend to face Louisville on Sept. 29 and Miami on Sept. 30.
