Field Hockey Beats Louisville

MOUNT PLEASANT--The Central Michigan University field hockey team made it three wins in a row with a 3-1 victory over the University of Louisville on Friday afternoon at Kelly/Shorts Stadium.
The win improves CMU's record to 5-3 overall and 2-1 in the Mid-American Conference.
The Chippewas scored a pair of goals in the first half to take a 2-0 advantage. Jocelyn Gates (Lake Villa, IL/So.) scored with 33:40 left in the first half and Melissa Lazarevski (Rochester, NY/Jr.) scored with 20:25 left in the first to make it 2-0. The goal extended Lazarevski's scoring streak to four games.
Louisville cut CMU's lead to 2-1 with a goal from Susan Sattazahn with 27:50 left in the game.
The Chippewas made it 3-1 when Maria Neiswender (Hummelstown, PA/So.) scored with 9:45 left to seal the win.
Goalie Janel Spero (Shoreham, NY/So.) made five saves in the win.
Central hosts Miami on Saturday starting at 1 p.m.
