Women's Track Opens Season With Chippewa Open

MOUNT PLEASANT--The Central Michigan women's track and field team started the 2001 campaign by hosting the Chippewa Open on Friday at the Jack Skoog Indoor Track.
The Chippewas dominated the top spots with several first-place finishes.
Finishing first for CMU were: Jane Ludtke in the weight throw (56-5 ?), Melissa Miller in the mile (5:13.81), Suzy Bozin in the high jump (5-8 ?), Kari Karhoff in the 60m hurdles (9.01) and the 400m (59.00), Molly Galsterer in the 600m (1:37.75), Melissa Brousseau in the shot put (46-8), Maria Derezinski in the long jump (19-2 ?), LaQuesha Wiley in the 60m (7.6), Jen Wolbrink in the pole vault (10-0), Abby Jaroscak in the 200m (26.74), Erin Miner in the 800m (2:19.48), Amber Crenshaw in the 3,000m (10:45.85), Devyn Allen in the triple jump (36-2 ?) and the 4x400m relay team (4:05.53).
The Chippewas compete next at the Red Simmons Invitational at Michigan on Jan. 20.
