Gymnastics Falls To Western Michigan

KALAMAZOO--The Central Michigan gymnastics team fell to Western Michigan in its Mid-American Conference opener on Sunday afternoon.
The Broncos bested the Chippewas, 193.400-192.725. CMU is now 1-2 overall and 0-1 in the MAC.
Tammy Verrinder (London, Ontario/So.) took top honors in the all-around (38.675) and also tied for first on the uneven bars (9.825). She also tied for fourth on the balance beam (9.650). Verrinder's other scores included a 9.60 on the vault and a 9.60 in the floor exercise.
Andrea Price (Woodhaven/Sr.) tied for the top spot on the uneven bars with a career-high 9.825. Price also turned in a 9.675 on the floor exercise.
Bethany Couturier (Grand Rapids/Jr.) recorded a pair of second-place finishes. She took second in the all-around (37.875) and the balance beam (9.75).
Kelly Duce (Rochester Hills/Jr.) took second in the floor exercise (9.850) and Michele Orloski(Clifton Park, NY/So.) tied for fourth on the floor exercise (9.75).
The Chippewas are back in action at the Cardinal Classic on Jan. 26.
