Gymnastics Takes Third At Cardinal Classic

MUNCIE, Ind.--The Central Michigan gymnastics team finished third at the Cardinal Classic held on Friday night at Ball State University.
Ball State won the event with a score of 194.425 and was followed by Illinois State (194.000) and Central Michigan (191.800).
The Chippewas were led by Michele Orloski and Tammy Verrinder who each won individual events.
Orloski took top honors on the vault with a career-best 9.80. She also tied for second in the floor exercise with a career-best 9.925.
Verrinder won the bars with a 9.80 and took sixth in the all-around (38.100).
Laura Chow tied for second on the balance beam with a 9.800. The score tied her career-best mark.
Gina Black took fifth in the all-around with a 38.500 and finished fourth on the balance beam with a 9.80.
The Chippewas open their home season by hosting the annual Michigan Classic on Feb. 4.
