Field Hockey Falls To Ohio, 2-1

MOUNT PLEASANT -- The Central Michigan University field hockey team (7-10, 4-6 Mid-American Conference) lost a 2-1 match to 13th-ranked Ohio on Thursday afternoon in the Indoor Athletic Complex.
Liz Holtzman scored on the Bobcats first shot of the game, with 8:00 remaining in the first half, to give Ohio an early 1-0 advantage. The game remained scoreless until the Chippewas Tarah Trottier (Kitchener, Ontario/So.) tied the game with an assist from Melissa Lazarevski (Rochester, N.Y./Sr.), with 10:53 remaining in the game. The Bobcats took the lead for good when Andrea Voros cashed in on a penalty corner with 7:35 left in the game.
Goalkeeper Janel Spero (Shoreham, N.Y./Sr) tied her season high with 13 saves on 15 shots.
The Chippewas' season continues when they travel to Louisville, Ky., on Friday, Nov. 2, for the MAC tournament, opponent and time are to be announced.
