Women's Track Opens Outdoor Season

MOUNT PLEASANT--The Central Michigan University women's track team opens the 2001 outdoor season at the USTCA Quad at Southern Illinois University on March 24.

The Chippewas, who finished fourth at the 2001 Mid-American Conference indoor track and field championships, are led by returning outdoor All-MAC performers Melissa Brousseau (Alpena/Sr.), Kari Karhoff (Durand/Sr.) and Kia Johnson (East Amherst, N.Y./So.). Karhoff, an NCAA outdoor qualifier in 2000, is the defending outdoor champion in the 400m and 400m hurdles.
