ON THE PURDUE OPEN-- "First off we are hoping for good weather. Since it is an open meet we want to improve on our performances from the first meet. We need to fine tune and give some people opportunities to run since we have been off for a couple of weeks."
ON LAST WEEKEND-- "It went great. It was cold and windy and was the first meet that we ran outdoors, but despite all of that we still did well. It was a total team effort. I was proud of our kids because it was a battle for every point and we weren't at full strength but we still pulled it out."
GREAT START--The Chippewas opened the 2001 outdoor season with a first-place finish at the USTCA Quad at Southern Illinois. Central competes another USTCA Quad on April 14 at the University of Michigan.
DEBUT--Brand new for the 2001 outdoor season is the introduction of the steeplechase. Sophomore Desha Feldpausch won the event with a time of 11:40.17.
UPCOMING--Central Michigan competes at the Indiana Triangular on April 7 at Bloomington, Ind.
