Wrestling Announces 2001-02 Schedule

MOUNT PLEASANT -- The No. 20-ranked Central Michigan wrestling team has mapped the road it will take to defend its Mid-American Conference regular season title.
The 2001-02 schedule features four home contests and four nationally-ranked opponents. Taking on the No. 20-ranked Chippewas in Rose Arena are No. 17th-ranked Michigan State (11/28), and Mid-American Conference rivals Ohio (1/25) and Northern Illinois (2/1). Also coming to Mount Pleasant are The Citadel, Clarion University, and the University of Findlay who will compete in the Hampton Inn "Duels" on Jan. 6.
Along with nationally-ranked Michigan State, CMU will grapple at fourth-ranked Michigan (12/8), 15th-ranked Edinboro University and No.12-ranked Pennsylvania. The Chippewas will also face top competition at the National Duals which features ranked competition from across the counrty.
The season opens with the Michigan State Open tournament on November 17.
