Gymnastics Hands Kent State A Loss

Mount Pleasant, Mich.--The Central Michigan gymnastics team claimed a convincing win over its biggest rival, Kent State, Sunday afternoon 195.725-193.900.
Central posted its highest team score of the season and third-highest score in school record books. The Chippewas also tallied team season- highs on the floor exercise (49.350), beam (48.850) and the vault (48.875).
Kara Reighard (Mt. Pleasant/Fr.) was .100 shy of tying the school record (39.425) in the all-around. She finished first with a 39.325 and tied for first on the floor exercise with teammates Michele Orloski (Clifton Park, N.Y./Jr.) and Shanna Duggan (Sault Ste. Marie, Ont./Fr.) with a 9.900. Kent State's Heather Langham also tied for first with a 9.900 on the floor exercise.
Reighard finished first on vault (9.850), tied for second on beam (9.800) and placed third on bars (9.775).
Orloski posted her third-straight 9.900 on the floor exercise, tied for fourth on the vault (9.725) and tied for third on beam (9.775).
Duggan also tied for third on vault with a 9.775.
CMU took a first-place finish on each event but the beam. KSU's April Zentko won the event with a 9.850.
Kent State's Heather Langham (38.450) and Jessie James (38.375) rounded out the all-around competition in second and third place, respectively.
The Chippewas travel to the Wolfpack Invitational to face four non-conference opponents March 2 at 2 p.m.
