MOUNT PLEASANT -- Central Michigan women's basketball player Molli Munz (Bellefontaine, Ohio/Sr.) was selected by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as an All-American for the 2001-02 season.
The health fitness major finished her four-year career as the top three-point sniper at CMU (191) and third in career assists (339). This year, the co-captain tied a team and personal best with 11 assists in a game. Munz hit seven treys against Western Michigan this season, which was the second-best three-point effort in a game. Her other career marks are 26 points, 10 rebounds, 11 assists and five steals.
In the weight room, Munz benches 195 pounds, squats 190, has a vertical jump of 18 inches and a power clean of 120 pounds.
This award recognizes athletic, academic and personal achievements. It also takes into account community involvement and leadership qualities. A total of 184 athletes from 84 colleges and universities were acknowledged by the NSCA for their hard work in and out of the weight room.
