CMU Wrestling Goes Undefeated At Oregon Classic

REDMOND, OREGON -- The Central Michigan University wrestling team (6-0, 0-0 Mid-American Conference) went 3-0 in the Oregon Classic on Friday, Jan. 10, in Redmond, Oregon.
The Chippewas shut out Cal-State Fullerton in the first match of the day, 44-0. They then beat Oregon, 22-9, and picked-up their second shutout of the day with a 47-0 victory over Portland State.
Three wrestlers went 3-0 on the day: Jason Mester (Mineral Point, Wis./Jr) at 141; Ty Morgan (Huber Heights, Ohio/Jr.) at 149; and Bill Stouffer (Lowell/So.) at heavyweight. Going 2-0 on the day were: Kevin Carr (Warsaw, Ind./Jr.) at 165; Alex Lammers (Huber Heights, Ohio/So.) at 184; and Brett Faustman (Mason/Sr.) at 197.
CMU next battles Oregon State on Sunday, Jan. 12. The meet is at Oregon State and will begin at 2 p.m. PST.
