MOUNT PLEASANT -- Central Michigan University women's basketball guard Casey Manning (Southgate/Anderson) has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division "Player of the Week" for her performance in the 69-62 come-from-behind win over Canisius last week.
The 5-9 guard came off the bench to tally career highs of 18 points and seven rebounds. She also dished out two assists and added a block. She was 8-for-14 from the floor and was a solid 2-for-3 from behind the arc. Prior to the Canisius game, Manning had season totals of 17 points and seven rebounds in nine games.
The Chippewas return to action on Wednesday, January 8, when they open conference play at Eastern Michigan. Tipoff at the Convo is set for 7 p.m. CMU returns home on Saturday, January 11, when it hosts Akron. Tipoff in Rose Arena is scheduled for 1 p.m.
