Women's Track Competes Well At Red Simmon's

ANN ARBOR - The Central Michigan University women's track and field squad took part in its first road meet of the season at the Red Simmon's Invitational at the University of Michigan.
The Chippewas went up against the Wolverines, South Florida, Grand Valley State, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Pittsburgh and Hillsdale in the non-scoring affair.
Although no Chippewa finished in first place, CMU had three second and two third place finishes in the prestigious event.
Jackie Bozin led the way for the Chippewas by taking two top three finishes in jumping competitions. She took second in the high jump by clearing the bar at 5-8 and finished third in the long jump with a leap of 18-3.
Cami Moll and Amanda Storck earned the other two second-place finishes for CMU. Moll took second in the 3,000m (10:11.73) while Storck grabbed second in the poll vault (12-6).
Fallon Bailey got CMU's other top three finish by taking third in the 60m with a time of 7.66.
The Chippewas return to action next week when they host the Michigan Intercollegiates on Saturday, Jan. 31.
