Women's Track Finishes Second At Michigan Intercollegiates

MOUNT PLEASANT -- The Central Michigan University women's track squad scored 121 points and finished second at the Michigan Intercollegiates at Jack Skoog Track on Saturday afternoon.
The Chippewas finished behind only Big Ten-foe Michigan who had 190.50 points. Rounding out the competition was last year's Mid-American Conference Champion Eastern Michigan with 108 points, Western Michigan with 58.50 points and Detroit with 16 points.
CMU had strong performances by Amanda Storck and Jackie Bozin who both earned first-place honors. Storck took first in the pole vault for the second time this season with a jump of 12-5 1/2 and Bozin grabbed first in the high jump with a leap of 5-8.
Bozin also grabbed third in the long jump (19-0 1/2) after competitng in the pentathlon at Findlay on Friday afternoon.
Other Chippewas taking second place were: Fallon Bailey in the 60m (7.65); Cami Moll in the 3,000m (9:52.97); Tamera Thomas in teh 60m hurdles (8.74); Jackie Smart in the triple jump (39-5 1/4) and Mary Raney in the shot put (47-7).
CMU's distance medley relay squad crossed the finish line in first in their first competiton this season with a time of 12:03.51.
The Chippewas return to action next weekend Bowling Green on Friday, Feb. 6. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
