EAST LANSING -- Central Michigan University ran its winning streak to four in a row over Michigan State University in wrestling here Wednesday night with a 25-10 victory.
The Chippewas, ranked 20th in one poll and 14th in another, are now 1-0 forthe season while the Spartans are 1-1. The dual took place in front of more than 2,200 people,
"It was a good way to start the dual meet season," said CMU head coach Tom Borrelli. "The kids responded well in a little bit of pressure situation."
Mitch Hancock led the way for CMU with a pin at 174 over Greg Goidosik at 3:44.
Also winning by decision were Jason Borrelli, Mark DiSalvo, Eric Neil, David Bolyard, Alex Lammers and Bill Stouffer.
The Chippewas return to action with their home opener on Sunday, Dec. 19, against Oregon State. The contest is set to start at 2 p.m.
