MOUNT PLEASANT - Ohio University recovered from a woeful performance in the first half to snag a come-from-behind win over the Central Michigan University women's basketball team, 53-48.
Ohio put up 43 points in the second half in shooting .485 (16-for-33) in the final frame. The same Bobcats scored a meager 10 points in the first stanza in shooting .182 (4-for-22)
The Chippewas lose their 10th straight as they slip to 4-16 overall and 0-9 in MAC action. Ohio ups to 8-11 and 2-6 in conference tilts.
The Chippewas hit a dry spell in the game's final 3:11. The Bobcats went on a game-ending 12-0 run to post its second MAC victory for the season.
OU's Angel Hornsburger led the comeback with 14 points, 12 in the second half.
Lindy Hatfield had a career outing as she turned in a 20-point performance. She shot a blistering 5-for-8 from three-point range to lead all scorers. It was a career high for the Findlay, Ohio, native.
CMU held a 22-10 lead at the half.
The Chippewas got off to a fast start with their first four field goals coming from three-point range. Three treys from Lindy Hatfield and one from Erin Kuhl led to a 12-5 lead at the 11:51 mark. Ohio connected for only four field goals in the first half, three of them coming from reserve Kristian Kirkpatrick.
Next up for the Chippewas is a road date with Kent State on Saturday, Feb. 7. Tipoff in the M.A.C. Center is set for 2 p.m.
