Davis, Smart Capture Event Titles at Len Paddock

ANN ARBOR - Katie Davis and Jackie Smart led the Central Michigan University women's track and field team with each turning in first-place finishes in their respective events.
Davis was tops in the shot put with a 48-1/2 effort and Smart was first in the triple jump (40-4 1/4).
The 400m relay team was one of two second-place showings for the Chippewas. The team of Fallon Bailey, Jenni Roberts, Nancy Figueroa and Leslie Johnson turned in a time of 46.18. Natasha Reynolds also had a second-place throw in the javelin (149-11).
Bailey and Ariss Seals finished side-by-side in the 100m. Bailey was third (12.23) and Seals was fourth (12.3). Figueroa also had a fourth-place finish in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.27.
Jenni Roberts turned in a fifth-place showing in the 200m (25.09) while Katherine Lolli was sixth in the 400m hurndles (1:03.22).
The Chippewas wrap up the season at the MAC Track and Field Championships in Oxford, Ohio in two weeks. Miami hosts the meet which takes place May 13-15.
