Cardinals Fly By Volleyball, 3-0

MUNCIE, Ind. - An on-target Ball State squad dealt the Central Michigan University volleyball team a 3-0 (30-17, 30-24, 30-20) road loss on Friday evening in Muncie, Ind.
The Cardinals hit .313 in the match to move to 11-8 overall, 5-4 in the Mid-American Conference. The Chippewas fall to 3-16 on the year, 0-9 in the conference.
CMU was led by junior middle blocker Alison Baker with nine kills as she hit .263 in the match. Courtney Kersten dished out 22 assists for CMU while Ali McCrite led the defense with 11 digs. Whitney Evers had a team-high four blocks for the Chippewas.
Rachel Refenes led the Ball State offense with 15 kills and a .429 attacking percentage. Kelly Cochran added 14 more kills while hitting .400 in the contest. BSU setter Angie Parrell had 35 assists and Amanda McCormick tallied 17 digs to help the Cardinals to victory.
BSU tallied 11 more kills, 45-34, 12 more digs, 46-34, and had four more blocks, 10-6. Ball State also outhit the Chippewas, .313-.070.
CMU gets right back on the court as it plays at Toledo tomorrow afternoon beginning at 3 p.m.
