Trio Earns MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week Honors

MOUNT PLEASANT - A trio of Chippewa student-athlete were named "Scholar-Athlete of the Week" by the Mid-American Conference today encompassing the past two weeks.Women's basketball player Erin Kuhl and wrestler Mark DiSalvo earned the honor for the week of Nov. 29, while women's basketball player Casey Manning garnered honors on Dec. 7.

Manning is a chemistry major with a 3.77 GPA. The senior guard helped CMU to a 79-57 road win at Big Ten foe Michigan in CMU's only game of the week. Manning had 10 points, nine rebounds and six assists in the victory. The Southgate, Mich. native leads the MAC in steals this season. She earned this same honor twice last year.

The MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week honor is presented to a MAC male and female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during that week's competition. The winners are selected by a group of the conference's faculty athletic representatives.
