Women's Basketball Announces 2005-06 Schedule

With the start of the women's basketball season right around the corner, Central Michigan University announced its 2005-06 schedule on Thursday, Sept. 1.
Road games at Michigan State and Michigan headline the nonconference portion of the schedule. The Chippewas travel to Ann Arbor on Wednesday, November 30, and play 2005 Final Four participant MSU on Friday, December 30. Another highlight is a three-game swing in Florida during winter break. CMU plays in the Central Florida tournament on Dec. 16-17, and at Jacksonville on Monday, Dec. 19.
"This is a very competitive and challenging schedule," head coach Eileen Kleinfelter said. "The nonconference portion is especially tough but it will prepare us for conference play. Facing both Michigan and Michigan State is unique and exciting. Both those games, along with the Florida trip, are some things the players are looking forward to. We also added a couple new teams to the docket to help diversify the schedule a little bit."
CMU begins the regular season with Wilberforce on Saturday, Nov. 19, and starts Mid-American Conference play on Saturday, Jan. 7, at Western Michigan. The conference tournament begins with first round games on Saturday, March 4, at campus sites. It then moves to Cleveland Ohio for the final three rounds set to take place on March 8-11.
