MOUNT PLEASANT - After recording its best nonconference start since joining the Mid-American Conference, the Central Michigan University women's basketball team opens MAC play this week with a game at Western Michigan on Saturday, Jan. 7.
Tip off in University Arena is set for 2 p.m. The Chippewas stand at 9-2, tied with Bowling Green for the best record in the conference, while WMU is 3-8.
CMU is looking for its first victory over Western Michigan since 2001, a string of nine-straight losses. Overall, WMU leads the series, 41-31.
