Women's Basketball Holds Maroon and Gold Scrimmage

MOUNT PLEASANT – Fans of the Central Michigan University women’s basketball team will get their first look at the 2006-07 squad during the Maroon and Gold scrimmage in Rose Arena on Thursday, Oct. 26.
The first 150 fans will receive a free lunch provided by Max and Emily’s and Papa John’s. Doors will open at noon with the scrimmage set to start shortly after that and running until around 1 p.m. Games, prizes and giveaways will take place during the event.
The 2006-07 Chippewas return three starters and seven letterwinners from last year’s team which went 16-12, the first winning season since 1992-93. Honorable Mention All-MAC forward Ann Skufca highlights the returners along with fellow starters Sharonda Hurd and Stacey Verhoff. CMU also welcomes in five newcomers this season. The scrimmage will pit the upper classman against the lower classman.
CMU opens its exhibition season against Athletes In Action on Tuesday, Oct. 31, beginning at 7 p.m.
