CMU Tabbed MAC Wrestling Preseason Favorite

The Chippewas, winners of nine straight MAC titles and six straight MAC Championships crowns, will enter the season with seven individuals ranked No. 1 in the MAC's individual weight class rankings.
CMU finished ahead of Kent State in the team rankings. Northern Illinois and Ohio tied for third, with Eastern Michigan and Buffalo rounding out the poll in that order.
Eric Kruger (141 pounds), Brandon Carter (149), Mike Miller (165), Brandon Sinnott (174), Christian Sinnott (184), Wynn Michalak (197) and Bubba Gritter (285) are all ranked first in their classes in the preseason poll. Luke Smith (125) and Conor Beebe (133) are ranked second in their weight classes.
Kruger, Miller, Brandon Sinnott, Christian Sinnott, Michalak and Gritter are all defending conference champions. Miller, Brandon Sinnott and Gritter all earned All-America honors at the 2007 NCAA Championships.
CMU opens the 2007-08 season on Nov. 11 at the Michigan State Open.
