Beebe Earns Bid to NCAA Wrestling Championships

MOUNT PLEASANT – Conor Beebe became the eighth Central Michigan University wrestler to earn a bid to the 2007 NCAA Wrestling Championships when he was selected to replace an injured wrestler from the conference.
Beebe, a freshman at 133 pounds, was picked as the Mid-American Conference’s first alternate after the conference championships last weekend. He finished third at the MAC Championships and has a record of 17-15.
Beebe joins Luke Smith (125), Eric Kruger (141), Mike Miller (165), Brandon Sinnott (174), Christian Sinnott (184), Wynn Michalak (197) and Bubba Gritter (HWT) in the tournament. CMU’s eight national qualifiers is more than Michigan (five qualifiers) and Michigan State (two) combined.
The NCAA Wrestling Championships are being held at the Palace of Auburn Hills in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The event is Thursday-Saturday, March 15-17.
Tickets Still Available at CMU Athletics Ticket Office
All-session tickets and student tickets for the 2007 NCAA Wrestling Championships are still available through the CMU Athletics Ticket Office.
All-session tickets are $120 apiece and are available online. To order, access the ticket office's Web site, and choose "Purchase Season Tickets" in the Wrestling section.
The ticket office will also have 50 tickets to each session available exclusively for CMU students. Those tickets can only be purchased by visiting the ticket office in person or calling 1-888-FIRE-UP2. Costs for the single-session student tickets are as follows:
Session 1 (First Round) - Thursday, March 15 @ 11:00AM - $20
Session 2 (Preliminaries and Consolation Round) - Thursday, March 15 @ 6:30PM - $20
Session 3 (Quarterfinals) - Friday, March 16 @ 11:00AM - $25
Session 4 (Semifinals) - Friday, March 16 @ 7:00PM - $25
Session 5 (Wrestle-back semifinals) - Saturday, March 17 @ 10:00AM - $30
Session 6 (Championship Finals & Award Ceremony) - Saturday, March 17 @ 8:00PM - $50
