Dillon and McClure Named to USTFCCCA All-Academic Team

MOUNT PLEASANT Two members of the Central Michigan University women’s track and field team have been named to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association’s All-Academic team for 2006-07. Sophomore Kelly McClure and freshman Erin Dillon were recognized by the USTFCCCA for their success on the track and in the classroom over the last year.
McClure was an NCAA regional qualifier outdoors in the 3000m steeplechase, shattering the school record in a time of 10:49.75. She was a second team All-Mid-American Conference selection following a runner-up finish at the MAC Outdoor Championships in that event. McClure also scored for CMU in the 5000m, finishing sixth. The Iron Mountain, Mich. native was an Academic All-MAC selection and a second team ESPN the Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District pick, and carries a 3.96 grade point average majoring in health fitness and pre-physical therapy.
Dillon was part of the 4x400m relay team that set the school record and finished second at the MAC Outdoor Championships, and also competed individually in the 200m and 400m throughout the season. The freshman from Reading, Mich. carries a 3.28 grade point average majoring in health fitness.
